Applying to medicine with a lower UCAT score, 2027 entry

No school publishes a list for lower scores. The useful move is to avoid schools that rank on UCAT alone and look at schools that add UCAT to academic scores or do not publish a UCAT threshold, then check each floor.

How to use this list

  1. Place your total on the 2026 deciles first. The 2026 figures are preliminary, so treat the band as rough until the final table appears.
  2. Drop schools with a published minimum above your score. Those are in the minimum column.
  3. Favour schools that score UCAT with grades if your GCSEs or A-levels are strong.
  4. Check the SJT column. Band 4 rules out several schools on its own.
  5. Ask the admissions team where a school publishes no weighting. This page will not guess one, and a school that publishes no floor can still shortlist mostly on UCAT.

Where 2026 scores sit so far

On the preliminary 2026 table (20,794 tests to 13 September 2026), the 10th percentile cut point was 1,630, the middle 1,980 and the 90th 2,300. These will move when the final table is published. Place your own total.

Questions students ask

What counts as a lower UCAT score in 2026?

There is no official definition. On the 2026 preliminary table the middle score (50th percentile) was 1,980. Below the 40th percentile cut point (1,910) you are in the lower part of this year's candidates so far.

Can I still get an interview with a lower score?

At schools where UCAT is only part of the score, strong grades can compensate. This page does not estimate your chance: the schools do not publish enough to do that honestly.
