UK medicine without UCAT, 2027 entry

Three schools here do not use UCAT at all, Lancashire does not ask international applicants for it, and several graduate routes accept GAMSAT or MCAT instead. For UK school leavers, medicine almost everywhere else needs UCAT.

  2. Graduate routes that accept GAMSAT usually need a degree first, so they are not a school-leaver alternative.
  3. Where a school accepts either test, the school page says how it compares them.

Where 2026 scores sit so far

On the preliminary 2026 table (20,794 tests to 13 September 2026), the 10th percentile cut point was 1,630, the middle 1,980 and the 90th 2,300. These will move when the final table is published. Place your own total.

Can I apply to UK medicine straight from school without UCAT?

For 2027 entry, Buckingham runs its own assessment instead. Greater Manchester sets no admissions test for 2027 but takes international applicants only, and needs UCAT from 2028 entry. Lancashire does not ask international applicants for UCAT. Check each for fees and eligibility.
