How we work this out
What it does

University of Birmingham Medicine and Surgery (five-year), 2027 entry, standard Home school-leaver route. Graduate, international and Pathways to Birmingham routes are scored differently.
Method

- Your two best other GCSEs score 2 each at grade 8 or 9.
- The GCSE points, out of 24, are scaled to 4.5.
- Your official 2026 UK UCAT decile scores from 0 at decile 1 to 4.000 at decile 10, in Birmingham's printed steps.
- Applicants eligible for free school meals or who have been in local authority care add 1.5 points in POLAR4 quintiles 1 and 2, 1.2 in quintile 3, 0.9 in quintile 4 and 0.6 in quintile 5.
