How we work this out
What it does
Your points out of 96 from your GCSEs and UCAT, using Leicester's 2027 scoring document.
University of Leicester Medicine A100, 2027 entry, applicants with predicted A-levels and first-sit GCSEs. Graduate, Access, BTEC and achieved A-level routes are scored differently.
Method
- Eight first-sit GCSEs are scored: English Language, Maths, Biology and Chemistry (or both Combined Science grades), then your four best other subjects. Citizenship Studies and Global Perspectives do not count, and only one maths-family grade counts.
- Each GCSE scores 6 for a 9, 5 for an 8, 4 for a 7, 3 for a 6 and 0 for a 5 or below, up to 48.
- The UCAT total scores from 36 points at 1800 to 1849 up to 48 points above 2400, in Leicester's printed bands.
- SJT Band 4 and a UCAT total in the bottom two deciles of the 2026 UK cohort are not considered.
- The tool reproduces Leicester's worked GCSE example: 7, 9, 9, 9, 9, 8, 6 and 5 give 36 points.
