Why not multiply by 3/4? The four sections were never equal, and the people taking the test changed. A 2024 score of 2800 matches about 2120 in 2025 by rank, not 2100.

Method
- We find your score's percentile in its own year, using straight lines between UCAT's published final decile boundaries (normal curve beyond the 10th and 90th).
- We then find the score at that same percentile in the other year, the same way, and round it to 10.
- If you enter your 2024 Abstract Reasoning score, we also show your total minus AR. That subtotal is simple arithmetic and answers a different question.
Uncertainty and limits
- Straight lines between deciles were checked by leaving out each inside boundary: the error averaged 0.96 percentile points (largest 2.0).
- The two cohorts are different people. Matching percentiles compares rank, not ability.
- UCAT has published no official conversion between the scales.

What the answer means
The answer says which score was equally common in the other year's results. It is not an official conversion and not a school cut-off: schools set 2026 lines on the new scale from their own applicants.

Questions people ask
What is 2800 out of 3600 in the new UCAT?
2800 was about the 81st percentile in 2024. The 2025 score at the same percentile is about 2120 out of 2700, not 2100 as multiplying by 3/4 would suggest.
Why is the UCAT out of 2700 now?
UCAT removed Abstract Reasoning from the 2025 test. The three remaining sections are each still scored 300 to 900.
Can I just multiply by 3/4?
No. The four sections were never equally scored, and the people who sat the test changed. Matching by percentile is the fair comparison the published data supports.
How do I compare old medical school cut-offs?
Use cut-offs set on the same scale. Schools' 2026-entry figures were set on 2025 scores out of 2700; our cut-off calculator lists them.
