Method
- We copied the three counts for each course, entry year and fee group exactly as printed.
- Rates are those counts divided: interviews over applications, offers over interviews, and offers over applications. We never mix fee groups, courses or years in one rate.
- Manchester's own percentage rows sometimes use a different denominator, so we always recalculate from its counts.
Uncertainty and limits
- These are counts for a whole group in one year, not probabilities for a person.
- Offers are not places: some offer-holders miss their grades or go elsewhere, and waiting lists change counts during the cycle. Brighton and Sussex's 2026 figures are as of 13 May 2026.
- Only seven schools publish all three counts; missing schools are not assumed to be similar.

What the answer means
The answer shows where the bottleneck is at a school: getting the interview, or turning it into an offer. It cannot give your chance of an offer, and rates at different schools cannot be combined into a chance of getting at least one offer.

Questions people ask
What percentage of medical school interviews lead to an offer?
It varies widely. For 2026 entry, 77% of Queen Mary's interviewed home medicine applicants got an offer, and 84% at Brighton and Sussex. At Oxford, 41% of those interviewed got an offer.
Which medical school interviews the most applicants?
Among schools that publish counts, Aberdeen interviewed 839 of 955 Scottish applicants for 2026 entry (88%) and Queen Mary 1,294 of 1,732 home applicants (75%). Overseas rates are usually much lower.
Is it harder to get into medicine as an overseas applicant?
At the schools publishing counts, usually yes. Queen Mary interviewed 41% of overseas medicine applicants for 2026 entry against 75% of home applicants, and Manchester 18% against 64%.
Why do some schools interview almost everyone?
Some shortlist hard on academics and UCAT before counting applications as eligible, or receive applications mostly from people who already meet their thresholds. Compare interview and offer rates together.
