Published UCAT interview cut-offs for 2026 entry ran from 1,800 to 2,340 for Home applicants, from about the 37th percentile of test-takers to above the 90th

For 2027 entry, the only numbers published so far are minimums to be considered. Real cut-offs are set after applications close, from the scores of the people who apply.

What the data shows

A cut-off is set after the applications arrive

Most schools that use a UCAT threshold set it once they see who applied, and publish it after the cycle. For 2026 entry the dataset holds 49 published figures from 12 schools, and they mean different things: 37 interview cut-offs, 8 lowest scores interviewed, 4 eligibility minimums. Only an interview cut-off is a line the school actually applied; a lowest score interviewed is one person's score.

Where last year's cut-offs sat

The 10 Home interview cut-offs ran from 1,800 at Sheffield A101 to 2,340 at Bristol A206. On the 2025 test, half of UK candidates scored 1,880 or less and 9 in 10 scored below 2,220. 6 of the 10 cut-offs were at or above the 80th percentile score of 2,100. The percentile of each cut-off is our estimate between UCAT's printed deciles.

What is known about 2027 entry

Edinburgh, Keele and Sunderland have published 2027-entry rules, and each is a minimum to be considered rather than a cut-off: Keele 1,950 (international), Edinburgh 1,850 (all applicants), Keele 1,700 (home), and Sunderland the top eight deciles of the 2026 test. 8 schools in the dataset say they set no fixed cut-off at all.

This year's scores are still preliminary

UCAT's preliminary 2026 figures cover 20,794 tests taken up to 13 September: a mean of 1,970 and a median of 1,980, against a final 2025 mean of 1,891. UCAT replaces them with final statistics after testing ends; any 2027 cut-off estimate built on them is a scenario, not a published figure.

What this does not show

  • No 2027-entry interview cut-off exists yet: schools set them after the 15 October 2026 UCAS deadline, from that year's applicants.
  • Schools use different kinds of threshold. The chart shows only Home, standard-route interview cut-offs; contextual, graduate and international figures are in the download.
  • Scores from 2026 entry onwards are out of 2,700 (three subtests). Figures for 2025 entry and earlier were out of 3,600 and cannot be compared without a conversion, which would be an estimate.
  • The percentile of each cut-off is interpolated between UCAT's printed deciles. Above the 90th or below the 10th it is shown as a range only.
  • Meeting a cut-off does not guarantee an interview: SJT bands, predicted grades and personal statements also count, and some schools rank rather than filter.
  • The dataset covers the schools whose figures we could source and check; a school missing here may still publish a threshold.

Method and sources

  1. Took every 2026-entry figure on the 2,700 scale from the UCATGenius school cut-off dataset, each transcribed from the school's own page, report or FOI answer.
  2. For the chart, kept interview cut-offs for Home applicants on the standard route, one per course code.
  3. Added the 2027-entry minimums published by schools by the dataset's check date.
  4. Placed each score among the final 2025 UCAT deciles (41,354 UK candidates) by straight-line interpolation between printed deciles.
  5. Kept preliminary 2026 statistics separate and labelled; nothing on the page is a forecast.
