Sitting the UCAT from Asia
- UCAT ANZ
- Delivered in Pearson test centres worldwide. In 2026 a test outside Australia and New Zealand cost A$405, and testing ran 1 July to 5 August.
- One test a year
- Sitting UCAT ANZ and UCAT UK in the same year is treated as misconduct. For 2027 entry to both regions, UCAT ANZ says to sit the UCAT ANZ.

Questions people ask
Does NUS Medicine need the UCAT?
Only for some applicants. NUS asks for a supplementary test from applicants with IB forecast results or international qualifications, and accepts UCAT UK or UCAT ANZ, or the SAT/ACT with Writing and AP exams. Singapore-Cambridge A levels, polytechnic diplomas, NUS High School and actual IB results need no test.
Does NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine need the UCAT?
Yes. Every MBBS applicant takes the UCAT, and only a result from the twelve months before admission counts.
Which UCAT should I sit in Asia?
The one your universities ask for. Australian and New Zealand universities accept only the UCAT ANZ. UK universities use the UCAT UK, and accept a UCAT ANZ result through the UCAT UK collection form. You cannot sit both in one year.
Is the UCAT used in Hong Kong, India or Malaysia?
We found no official source showing a medical school there uses the UCAT for its own admissions, so we list none. Students there sit it for the UK, Australia, New Zealand or the schools above.
