Free UCAT practice tests: where to start and how to review
Use the official UK UCAT tutorials, question banks and practice tests first. Start with the Tour Tutorial, learn the question types, then attempt a timed test nearer your sitting. Official practice gives answer explanations but does not save your result or provide a scaled score. Keep your own record before closing it. Official source (accessed 2026-09-24).
Choose the resource for the job

The official practice page below is the source for these resources. It recommends desktop use and offers standard, extra-time and untimed test versions. Keep a record of which version you used. An untimed attempt can diagnose reasoning, but it does not show whether you can finish within your test allowance.
Try an evidence decision before starting a full test
Worked example Can this be concluded?
Original teaching example. Passage: Every volunteer who attended the induction received a badge. Some volunteers did not attend. Statement: Every volunteer without a badge missed the induction. Is the statement supported?
Why this works: Yes. Attendance implies having a badge. Someone without a badge therefore cannot have attended. This is the contrapositive of the stated rule; it does not require assuming anything about volunteers who missed induction.
Why the tempting route fails: It would be wrong to conclude that everyone with a badge attended: the passage does not exclude another way of receiving a badge. Keep the direction of the rule clear.
Use the final review screen before you close it
- Record the resource, date, subtest, timing and whether this is a first attempt.
- Review guessed correct answers as well as errors. A correct guess is still a learning task.
- Write the earliest error: evidence, method, calculation, reading or time.
- Reconstruct the correct route with the explanation closed.
- Try a fresh question that requires the same move. Keep repeats separate from unseen practice.
Our suggested review entry is: "I reversed an all statement. Next time I will draw the implication arrow and test the contrapositive." That is more actionable than "work on VR". For QR, record whether you chose the wrong operation or entered the right calculation incorrectly. For SJT, identify the consequence of the proposed action rather than adding an action the question never states.
Keep practice feedback separate from an official result
The official practice tests do not provide a scaled score. A raw percentage on a short set should remain a raw percentage; it is not a university threshold or an official SJT band. Use fresh practice to check whether an error is becoming less frequent, then use official result statistics only for reported scores with the correct cohort.
