How much does the UCAT cost?

£70 at a UK test centre and £115 outside the UK. The fee depends on where you sit, not where you live. A bursary pays the whole fee if you qualify. Official practice tests are free.

Outside the UK£115

One fee covers the whole test: all four subtests and your score report, sent to every UK university you apply to.

The bursary

The UCAT bursary waives the whole fee for UK candidates who get a qualifying award or means-tested benefit, such as free school meals or the 16 to 19 Bursary. One bursary per test cycle. Approved after paying? Ask for a refund in your UCAT account.

When you lose the fee

  • Moving or cancelling up to 24 hours before your test is free, and a cancellation is refunded.
  • Miss the test, or change it later than that, and you pay the full fee again to rebook.
